Angela's introduction to painting began as a child with her Grandfather. Her formal studies include a 4 year program at the Victoria college of Art, which had a strong focus on modern art.
She began contemporary realism training with Michael Britton (studied at the Arts Student League and New York Academy of Art) who founded the Vancouver Academy of Art, and instructor Paul Chizak (studied in Florence, Chicago, and Washington). In 2005 Angela also attended an Academy based on the French Academic system where she studied for 4 years. During this time, in addition to the regular program, she studied privately with instructor and artist Ryan Gauvin.
Additionally she has attended various workshops with the Portrait Society of American and individual artists such as Dan Thompson, Yuqi Wang, Richard T Scott, Robert Liberace, and Michael Klein.
Angela has been a finalist in the Art Renewal Center (based in New Jersey) and won a Purchase Award.
Her work was published in "Srokes of Genius 6" and "Art Journey Portraits and Figures."
Angela has been in numerous juried shows in Vancouver, Toronto, Victoria, Squamish, and Whistler.
